A career in film was not always a consideration.  Working hard academically and personally, Geza successfully gained Senator Chris Dodd's (D. CT) endorsement to the US Naval Academy in Annapolis.  But... he ultimately decided that his dream of flying jets should remain outside the boundaries of military life.  Despite his parents' initial reservations, he rejected entry into the storied military academy and ended up graduating from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with honors.  Since then, Geza has pursued an enjoyable multi-hyphenate career in the entertainment industry. While at NYU, he produced and directed five of his own student films while taking on diverse behind-the-scenes duties on countless others.

In order to have a fully rounded understanding of the filmmaking process, he would work as a cinematographer, assistant cameraman, lighting designer, grip, gaffer and electrician.  He even utilized his skills in stage combat and stunt work to work as a fight coordinator and precision driver.

He consistently developed his craft as an actor through conservatory classes at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, in films and on stage.  When directing or producing a project, this has enabled him to relate to his actors not only on an intellectual level, but also on a genuinely passionate emotional level.

As a young professional, he produced and directed two television commercials for a local NASCAR Auto Racing track, translating his hobby of auto racing into a memorable highlight.

Discovering his edgy and highly individual voice and style as a writer/director was not a quiet process.  He managed to continually stir up controversy in his creative writing classes and was always quick to whole-heartedly argue any artistic choices in his own films, no matter how set in tradition the instructors were.

Throughout his four years at NYU, Geza continually worked to develop his knowledge of both the art and business of cinema.  He created and ran a Promotions and Marketing division for the NYU school newspaper, which serviced the major film studios in reaching out to the young audiences of New York City.  His knowledge of the advertising market and the press were expanded by his participation in many junkets, celebrity interviews and film premieres.

He continued working as a producer on award-winning student shorts all the while treading the boards of New York's Off-Off Broadway stages in front of small but appreciative audiences.

After moving to Los Angeles, Geza's first major release was “The Backyard”, which he produced for fellow NYU alum Paul Hough.  With this film the pair delivered a shocking dose of brutality while giving the audience the much-needed chaser of humor, humanity and inspiration.  "The Backyard" has received rave reviews and major accolades from festivals and press outlets around the world and has enjoyed a successful theatrical and DVD run.

He followed the raw reality of "The Backyard" with the micro-budgeted, pulpy sci-fi noir flick "Choker".  The collaboration was a whirlwind effort that proved that with tireless work and disciplined focus, an entertaining film could be carried from conception to execution in just 12 weeks with very little money on hand.  Featuring a quirky story, a cast of talented character actors beside pretty new faces, the film was quickly picked up for distribution around the world.

With the recent introduction of his production banner, Fire Sign Films, he will look to build upon the artistic and financial successes of his past projects and collaborations while further developing his cinematic visions.
